SoCal Spooky is a simple directory. You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information. The site is run by Bazan Worldwide, Inc. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect when you email us

The only way to send us information is by email. If you write to us to ask a question, submit a listing, send a correction or ask about a featured spot, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and manage the listing. Event details from a listing are published. Your personal contact info isn't, unless you ask us to show it.

What's collected automatically

Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so it can serve the site and protect it from abuse. We don't run ad trackers or advertising pixels. We do use Google Analytics, described next.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the directory is used: which pages people visit, roughly where visits come from, what device they use, and which links they click (for example, a listing’s official site, directions or a filter). Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address under Google’s privacy policy. We don’t send it your name, email or what you type into the search box, and we don’t use it for advertising. To opt out, use the Turn off analytics button at the bottom of any page (it’s remembered on that browser), Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and analytics doesn’t load at all. Google Analytics keeps this data for up to 14 months.

Maps

Our maps are embedded from Google Maps. When a map loads, Google receives technical information from your browser and may set cookies under Google's own privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Listings link to host websites, ticket pages and social media. When you click through, that site's own privacy policy applies.

How we use it

To reply to you, publish and manage listings, arrange featured placements, and keep the site running and secure. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the providers that help us run the site, measure visits and handle our email (such as Cloudflare and Google Analytics), and anyone the law requires us to share it with.

How long we keep it

Emails and listing records are kept as long as they're useful for running the directory. Records of payments for featured placements are kept as long as required for tax and accounting.

Your choices

Email [email protected] to ask what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll respond within 45 days. You can also turn analytics off any time with the Turn off analytics button at the bottom of every page.

California privacy notes

We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We don't track visitors across other websites. We honor Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends that signal, analytics stays off for you.

Kids

The site is for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has emailed us, let us know and we'll delete it.

Event addresses

Listings include event locations, some of which are private homes whose owners publicize their displays. If a listing shows your home and you want it changed or removed, email [email protected].

We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top.
