Halloween 2026 · Oct. 30–31The best trick-or-treating neighborhoods and events in Southern California
From movie-set yards in Toluca Lake to Victorian streets in Angelino Heights, here’s where to take the kids this Halloween: neighborhoods known for going all out, plus organized trick-or-treats at shops, malls and city events. Updated Oct. 30, 2026.
Neighborhood tradition ≠ guaranteed candy. Neighborhoods are listed because local news outlets or the city named them. Homeowners decide each year whether to take part, and the start points are public streets, never a specific house. For set times, look at the trick-or-treat events.
Weather: Rain is in the forecast for Saturday, Oct. 31. Outdoor events can change or cancel on short notice, so check the organizer’s page the day you go.
Be a good guest: stay on sidewalks, follow barricades, keep kids close, bring a flashlight and take your trash with you.

Do all homes in these neighborhoods give out candy?
No. These are streets with a reputation for Halloween, based on local news coverage and city notices. Each household decides for itself whether to decorate or hand out treats, so treat the neighborhoods as good places to start, not guarantees.
Which spots have set times?
The trick-or-treat events do. Each card shows the date and hours the organizer posted, and links to the organizer’s page. Neighborhood trick-or-treating has no official hours, except where a city announced a street closure (Sierra Madre’s Alegria Ave and Redlands’ W. Olive Ave).
What if it rains on Halloween?
Rain is in the forecast for parts of Southern California on Sat. Oct. 31. Outdoor events can change or cancel on short notice, so check the organizer’s page before you leave. Indoor options like Mall-o-Ween at Valencia Town Center and Trick-or-Treat at Inland Center run rain or shine.
Which spots work best for little kids?
Daytime and early-evening business trick-or-treats (Montana Ave, Carlsbad Village, Camarillo’s Old Town Boo Fest) are calmer. Among neighborhoods, LAist points families with small kids to Brentwood Glen and Burbank’s Magnolia Park.
